New Delhi: New Deal

Reliance Industries Goes for Big Bucks

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is looking into developing partnerships with “global players” in New Delhi in an attempt to get some of the big bucks the country is making in the area of financial services. RIL in India is the country’s biggest “private sector enterprise, with business in the energy and materials value chain,” with an excess revenue of $58bn per annum. Various companies in the global service area have already approached RIL to make possible mergers and enjoy some of its success. As well, the entire “financial services sector is poised for rapid and significant growth.” These companies wish to join forces with RIL in an attempt to “establish niche businesses in India.”

Improved RIL Products

So what else is making RIL so popular and successful? The company is trying to become more and more attractive to “corporates and consumers” via “next-generation financial services products.” A final plan is currently being worked on. There also may even be more financial development mergers as the company tries to establish a “joint venture with DE Shaw group.” This would enable RIL to “capitalize on the core strength of its business and expertise” of DE Shaw in its “proposed foray into the financial services sector.”

Other companies are also seeking to develop their financial service businesses in India, due to the financially friendly environment of the country and region. His company is fully committed and ready to be a part of the country’s development as well as “continued global recovery,” over the next few years. In general, businesses will be trying to set up a way to “serve the growing needs of Indian companies and individuals.”

Commitment Equals Growth

In this realm, the more commitment and dedication from these companies, the better. Indeed, “committed investments in core business and new initiatives are expected to result in sustained earnings growth.” RIL is now making efforts with work in financial services, with a special emphasis on energy and retail areas as well as “its proposed telecom and power ventures.”

Other areas of business expertise RIL could work its way into include: financial product distribution; infrastructure funding; private equity; mutual fund and energy trading.
